Original Turmeric Khichdi
Easy to cook, one pot meal made from organic split Moong Dal, organic Rice, dehydrated vegetables and spices.
Our khichdi (pilaf)is a traditional recipe for a nutritious, warm, comforting home meal. Make this hearty, aromatic, rich and flavorful meal in one pot.
Original turmeric khichdi is a nutritious comfort food.
Enjoy this khichdi with a dollop of ghee on top.
Ingredients:
Organic split moong dal Organic long grain basmati rice.
Spices: Turmeric, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala, Chilli Powder, Astefodia. Dehydrated mixed vegetables
Cooking in Insta Pot:
- Add oil (or ghee) to Insta Pot in sauté Mode.
- Add spices and veggies, sauté for 3-4 minutes
- Add Khichdi and 4 cups of water
- In multi-grain mode cook for 16 minutes.
- Cool down for 10 mins, release the pressure and serve
Cooking on Stove Top:
- Soak for 2 hrs and follow the same cooking instructions as above.

I was so happy to find these meals. I am vegan and gluten free and have had digestive issues which has made it hard for me to find good healthy foods that I can digest easily. I had never had Khichdi and was so happy that the beans used are different than traditional beans and give me a great source of protein I have been missing! The spices and flavors are so delicious and I love that they don’t have added salt so you can do it to taste. I have also been adding other steamed greens to these, as you can really make it your own. Especially with working so much these are easy to make too and I don’t feel like I’m eating “packaged food” as it is very healthy quality ingredients! These good meals will stay a rotation in my pantry as a warm healthy tasty meal- perfect for the cold winter ahead!
